Professional Objective

To enhance environmental literacy and stewardship through leadership, communication, interdisciplinary learning, and community building.
What I do:
I'm a designer, photographer, educator, and environmentalist. Right now I am most passionate about finding new and meaningful ways to communicate issues related to climate change to diverse audiences through interdisciplinary learning, hands-on education, and stewardship.  I currently work with an extraordinary team at Chincoteague Bay Field Station, a non-profit environmental education center and field station to educate, communicate, and empower learners of all ages about the natural environment. I also spear-head the fundraising that makes many of the programs possible.

Who I am:
I grew up in Massachusetts with my snorkel in the tide pools of Cape Cod beaches as a child. Always drawn to water, I formed my own concentration in photography, education, and fisheries conservation at Hampshire College.  My studies focused on using photography and design to communicate environmental issues, prompting the viewer to dive deeper into their connection with the natural environment.  During this time I also began my informal education career, teaching photography courses to a marginalized community of women in Holyoke, MA. Through a series of internships, jobs, and fellowships, I've found my path to the fields of environmental education and conservation and have come to understand and love the multidisciplinary nature of the field.
